Cleveland High School "A" Choir

From 2012 to 2013, I sang in the mixed audition choir at Cleveland High School - known as the "A" Choir, directed by Diana Rowey. There were about 65 of us in total and we performed lots of different repertoire including traditional, spiritual, classical, and even pop.

In May of 2013, we placed 2nd in the OSAA 5A State Championships!

Below are some YouTube videos of our performances, all recorded by MaryK Parham.

Cleveland Winter Choral Concert - December 13, 2012

  • The first song (0:00) is "Hanukkah Blessings," musical setting by Ron Jeffers. (Hebrew)
  • The second song (3:19) is "Ain'a That Good News" by William Dawson. (Spiritual)
  • And the grand finale (9:00) is the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah, one of my all-time favorite choir pieces. For this selection we also had Jonas Nordwall accompanying us on the pipe organ! We always invite choir alumni to come sing with us, so it sounds a bit rocky (and the warp-speed conducting didn't help either), but you get the idea. :) King of Kings, and Lord of Lords!
